Medium of instruction:

The medium of instruction of the Course will be in English. / Khóa giảng dạy sẽ được thực hiện bằng tiếng Anh

Venue: / Điểm đến

Philippine Scouting Center for Asia-Pacific Region, Mt. Makiling, Los Baños, Laguna, Philippines. / Trung tâm Hướng đạo Philippine của vùng Châu Á Thái Bình Dương, Núi Makiling, Los banos, Laguna.

The camp sits on the slope a thousand meters above sea level and located 65 kms. Southeast of the City of Manila, the capital of the Philippines. / Địa điểm trại nằm trên một sườn núi có độ cao 1000m so với mực nước biển và cách thủ đô Manila 65 cây số về phía Đông Nam.

 

Date and Duration: / Ngày bắt đầu khóa và kết thúc

The event will start on Wednesday, 01-September-10, at 0900H and will end on Tuesday, 07-

September-10 (seven full days for the Course). / Khóa học bắt đầu từ thứ 4 ngày 1/09/2010 vào lúc 9h và kết thúc vào thứ 3 ngày 07/09/2010

Participants should arrive on 31 August and may leave on 8 September. / Học viên nên đến vào ngày 31/08/2010 và có thể rời vào ngày 08/09/2010.

 

Food: / Thức ăn

Except for lunch all other meals and tea break is expected to be prepared by the participants. All

lunches will be catered. / Ngoại trừ buổi ăn trưa và giải lao giữa giờ sẽ được cung cấp, ngoài ra tất cả các buổi ăn khác sẽ được nấu bởi khóa sinh. (Kinh nghiệm Jamboree: nên mang theo thức ăn khô như mì gói & gia vị)

The meals at the camp will start from dinner of 31 August 2010 until breakfast of 8 September

2010 will be provided. / Buổi ăn tại trại sẽ bắt đầu từ buổi ăn tối ngày 31/08/2010 cho đến buổi ăn sáng vào ngày 08/09/2010.

 

Camping Equipment: / Dụng cụ cắm trại

Participants will be accommodated in tents and kitchen tools, cooking utensils will be provided. / Khóa sinh sẽ được cung cấp lều và dụng cụ bếp, nấu ăn để sử dụng.

 

Arrival and Departure: / Đến và đi

Airport Reception: Scout leaders in uniform will receive participants at the International Airport and bring them directly to the Mt. Makiling. Please wear a Scout scarf or any Scout identity. / Đón tiếp tại sân bay: Trưởng Hướng đạo mặc đồng phục sẽ đón các khóa sinh tại sân bay quốc tế và đưa về trại trường Makiling. Xin vui lòng đeo khăn quàng hướng đạo hoặc bất cứ vật gì để nhận biết là Hướng đạo sinh.

Please make sure that you have submitted your travel itinerary to the World Scout Bureau/APR

office well in advance. / Xin vui lòng đăng ký thông tin về chuyến bay đi và về của mình với văn phòng APR. (Đã thông báo nhiều lần)

Climate: / Thời tiết

The Climate of the Philippines is tropical monsoon characterized by relatively high temperature,

oppressive humidity and plenty of rainfall. There are two seasons in the country, the wet season

and the dry season. The summer monsoon brings heavy rains to most of the archipelago from May to October. Coastal areas next to the Pacific Ocean experience year-round rainfall.

The country's average temperature can range from 25-32°C, with humidity around 77 percent.

Highland areas are much cooler, with night time temperatures at night plunging to 20°C.

Attire and Dress Code: / Trang phục

Scout Uniform is required for Opening and Closing Ceremonies and formal functions. Smart casual clothes may be worn during sessions. Smart casual means, no slippers but short or T-shirt with collar. The name tag ands scarf must be worn at all times. / Đồng phục hướng đạo yêu cầu mặc vào lễ khai mạc và bế mạc trại, ngoài ra một số nghi thức cũng yêu cầu đồng phục. Thường phục có thể mặc trong suốt khóa. Không mang dép lê nhưng áo thun có bâu và quần short thì được phép. Bảng tên và khăn quàng khóa mang suốt thời gian trại.

 

Foreign Exchange: / Đổi tiền

The local Philippine currency is called “Peso” (PHP). USD1.00 is equal to about PHP45.22

(exchange rate as of today 5-Aug-10). / Tiền Philippine gọi là peso, 1 đô la Mỹ đồi được 45.22 peso

Since you will be transferred from the airport directly to the Course venue, it is highly

recommended to change your U.S. Dollars at the airport. / Yêu cầu đổi tiền trực tiếp tại sân bay.

 

Time Zone: / Giờ

The local time in the Philippines is eight hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (UTC/GMT +8

hours). / Giờ địa phương của Philippine sớm hơn Việt Nam 1 tiếng.

 

Electricity: / Điện

Electricity in the Philippines is 220V AC 60Hz. Type A plug is commonly found in residences and hotels. Some outlets are a combination of Type A and C and can accept either type plug electrical wall sockets. / Điện 220v AC 60Hz. Ổ cắm sử dụng là 2 chấu dẹp.

Type A is with a flat blade attachment plug, sometimes with round grounding pin. Type C (European 2-pin) Round pin attachment plug.

 

What to bring: / Đồ dùng cần mang theo

High heat and humidity require packing enough clothing to always appear clean and fresh. Bring

breathable clothes since it is always humid in this destination. / Mang theo áo quần nhẹ, mỏng, rộng rãi. Nên mang theo nhiều quần áo để thay đổi.

Lightweight clothing like light cotton shirts or t-shirts is recommended. Bring warmer clothes for

cooler evenings or highland visits. /  Mang theo áo vải cotton và áo thun. Mang theo áo ấm.

You may bring rubber shoes, hiking shoes, walking shorts, hat, jacket to be worn during the cold

night, torch or a flashlight and personal stationeries. Participants are also recommended to bring

umbrella or rain gear. Rainwear is essential during the monsoon season. / Có thể mang theo giày leo núi, nón, giày cao su, short, áo jacket để mặc ban đêm và những đồ dung cá nhân. Khóa sinh nên mang theo dù hoặc áo mưa.

Other useful items are sun block and insect repellent lotion./ Một số đồ dùng khác có thể sử dụng như kem chống nắng và kem chống muỗi. (Đất trại có nhiều kiến đen)

 

Ghi chú:

-       Có khả năng từ chân núi lên đất trại (10Km) có xe Jeepney di chuyển. Mỗi người 10 peso/lần

-       Có nhà dân ở rải rác trục lộ. Có mua bán một ít nhu yếu phẩm, tốt nhất nên mang theo đầy đủ.
